1.Home Loads Estimate
Statistics on the power and usage duration of various electrical appliances in the home, such as air conditioners, refrigerators, TVs, lighting fixtures,for example, a 1.5 hp air conditioner has 1100 watts of cooling/heating power, and if it’s used for 10 hours per day, the power consumption on that day is 10 kWh,through calculations, it is possible to clearly understand the total amount of electricity used by the home on a daily basis, so as to determine the amount of electricity that the energy storage system needs to meet.

If you have the special loads in the home and your grid is not stable,but those special loads need 24hours power supply for no shutdown,then you should consider the capacity of home energy storage system to meet the demand.
2.How to chose storage battery
1.Battery Type
Usually we use lithium battery and lead acid battery for our home energy storage system as it’s the most matured technology now,the choice usually depends on your budget for whole system,if you want longer life of system with one step solution then chose lithium battery,if you want cheaper option then choose lead acid battery.
2.Battery capacity configuration
It’s based on electricity demand, usually in kilowatt-hours (kWh),if the average daily electricity consumption of your home is 10 kWh, and the home energy storage system needs to be able to output electricity consumption for 3 days, the battery capacity needs to be at least 30kWH,also it is necessary to consider the charging and discharging efficiency of the battery at the same time, which is generally about 90% – 95%, we have to think about this factor to our configuration.
3.How to chose inverter
1.Rated Power
Inverter Power must meet the power of your whole home loads,for example if your all loads working power is 5KW,consider to there is a max power or startup power when the loads is turning on,so we at least need to configure 6KW inverter which is more 20% than your total home loads usually.
2.Inverter type
Usually we have off grid and on gird inverter,as well as single phase and three phase type,the phase type depends on your grid type,we just need to use it to be same with your local grid type,as for off grid and on grid,if we want to sell electricity to gird then we can use this type,if we only use the electricity for our self then we can use off grid type.

Now more and more requirements on energy storage system,we have to get the right choice for that,to avoid insufficient configuration to not meet demand, or redundancy configuration to waste power.
