How 48V 100AH Battery in Parallel
Parallel connection of 48V 100AH lithium battery can increase the capacity of the battery pack while maintaining the same voltage, the following are detailed implementation steps and precautions:
1.Preparation before parallel connection
Battery consistency check:Ensure that the lithium batteries to be connected in parallel are as consistent as possible in terms of voltage, capacity, internal resistance, and other parameters, inconsistent batteries may experience uneven charging and discharging when used in parallel, affecting their lifespan and performance, and even potentially causing safety issues, professional battery testing equipment can be used to measure various parameters of the battery.
Preparation of tools and materials:Prepare suitable connecting cables (with specifications that can withstand the maximum current of the parallel connected battery pack),insulation tape, wrenches, and other tools,as well as brackets or boxes for fixing the batteries.
2.Parallel Steps
Turn off the power:Ensure that all batteries are in a power-off state to avoid the danger of short circuits during the connection process.
Determine the positive and negative poles of the battery:Carefully check the markings on the battery and clarify the positive and negative poles, usually, red represents the positive pole and black represents the negative pole.
Connect the battery:Connect the positive terminals of all batteries together using a connecting cable, suitable bolts and nuts can be used to securely fix the cable to the positive pole of the battery, ensuring a tight connection and good contact, similarly, connect the negative terminals of all batteries together using another connecting cable, the connection method is the same as the positive electrode.
Insulation treatment: Wrap the connecting parts with insulating tape to prevent short circuits caused by contact between the positive and negative poles and external objects, ensure that the insulation tape is tightly wrapped and there are no exposed metal parts.
Check connections: Recheck if all connections are secure,if the positive and negative poles are connected correctly, and if the insulation is good.
3.Detection after parallel
Voltage detection: Use a multimeter to measure the voltage of the parallel connected battery pack, under normal circumstances, the voltage should be the same as that of a single battery, around 48V,if the voltage is abnormal,it indicates that there may be a problem with the connection and needs to be rechecked.
Charging test: When charging the parallel connected battery pack for the first time, closely observe the state of the battery during the charging process, including temperature, voltage changes, etc.if abnormal heating or excessive voltage fluctuations are found, charging should be stopped immediately and the cause checked.
4.Precautions
Safety first: Throughout the entire operation process, strict adherence to safety operating procedures is necessary to avoid hazards such as electric shock and short circuits, operators should wear protective equipment such as insulated gloves.
Avoid overcharging and overdischarging: Equip the parallel connected battery pack with a suitable Battery Management System (BMS) to prevent overcharging, overdischarging, and overcurrent, protecting the safety and lifespan of the batteries.
Environmental requirements: The battery should be installed in a well ventilated, dry, and suitable temperature environment, avoiding use in high temperature, humid,or corrosive gas environments.
